Today I finished making a calendar to use for school. I am so excited! G enjoyed putting the numbers on for July this afternoon. It is laminated, so I can write each day's date on the top using a dry erase marker. The months and numbers stick to the calendar with velcro. I don't know if I really saved any money making it myself or not. I had on hand
--poster board,
--some laminating sheets (used for number circles and months),
--some velcro tape and
--card stock (computer-printed months and number circles; colored edges with marker)
It cost $1.25 to laminate the posterboard.
The extra velcro tape (months) and dots (number circles) cost $7.30.
There are so many ways to use a calendar with children, and I would love to hear more ideas to implement. Some that come to mind...
Days of the week
Months of the year
Yesterday/today/tomorrow
Counting/number recognition
Before/after
Future/past
Number of days in school/until school is out

Hope, Your calendar looks so professional. Your website looks awesome too. My sites are pretty rough around the edges. I need to take more time to learn how to format. It was so nice meeting you and I look forward to getting to know you better.
